Since I am very busy during wedding season, I decided tofocus this holiday season on giving back to my past and current clients bycreating a series of 1:1 DIY workshops.

I absolutely love teaching and I believe that every womancan learn how to be their own makeup artist and beauty guru. Learn a few simpletechniques that will have you look your absolute, most confident best!

Beauty Workshops take approximately two hours, broken down in three sections:

- 30 min - consultation in regards to your specific makeupneeds.

WPPI 2012 | Makeup Artistry for Photo Shoots + Workshops

Every year I attend the WPPI Wedding Photography Conference in Las Vegas (this is my 5th year!). It is the best place to meet and work with great photographer from around the world. Last year I had the privilege to work with New York based photographer Mel Barlow of Mel Barlow & Company and Los Angeles based photographer Ray Soemarsono of Apertura during their photo shoots in Las Vegas. The shoots were incredible fun and we collaborated splendidly to make sure we got incredible images. This year I'm extending my hair, makeup & wardrobe styling services to all photographers at WPPI. Behind the Scenes at Today's Bride Cover Shoot

I really enjoy the preparation process for this type of photo shoot; I get so excited choosing the wardrobe, accessories, model, and theme mood boards. Once we have a concept in mind, it inspires me to create the hair & makeup design. For this shoot, we wanted a modern take on the sexy 1920's Parisian Chic. The makeup was soft bronzed smokey eyes and soultry lips and for hair I did a messy faux bob.

The photographer and my partner in crime, Jennifer Skog, did an amazing job as the creative director for this shoot. It's great to have a partner who is as commited as I am in creating beautiful images. I love working with her!

The behind the scenes footage was filmed by non other than Andrew Hsu of Studio MSV. He captured the day with amazing detail and his unique style.

It's always a great pleasure working with Alexander Kon of IQ Videography; besides having great talent as a video-journalist, Alex is gentle, sweet and knows how to capture moments in a very chic cinematic style.

Lee was definitely one entertaining bride! She had the best jokes and a great singing voice... I trade I suspect is inherited in her family... Mom was hilarious too!

I'm excited to go to the WPPI convention once again! I know I'm not a photographer but most of my friends and people I work with are, and believe it or not, I learn so much and meet so many great photographers every time I go. This year Jennifer Skog and I will also have a mini-hands on workshop, we will do a live Boudoir Shoot to teach other photographers how much fun we have at this shoots!

JANUARY WORKSHOP | Rona Basa

After 20 years of amazing experience in the world of Makeup Artistry; I decided to start doing workshops to begin my legacy (I'm old people) and pass own the knowledge I have acquired all these years. My goal for 2010 is to start educating new Artists and raise the industry standards by teaching not only beauty but also business savvy. I want the new generation of talented artists to strive for excellence... PMA style!

My workshops are an one-on-one experience and you get my full attention as well as you get to ask any questions. You can also take two workshops in one day (I have four workshops to choose from). However, I am completely booked for 2010 for weddings & other work; so I can only take one Artist per month. As much as I would like to accommodate more attendees, I can only teach 12 Artists this year. So book yours soon!

This month's workshop, I had the privilege to have Rona Basa as my apprentice for two of my workshops "The Art of Makeup" & "The Art of the Updo". We had a full day (8hrs) of fun! At The Art of Makeup workshop, Rona was able to follow my instruction and hands-on guidance to create beautiful looks as illustrated in the photos above. We did from natural to sultry! Rona is such a great student and learned everything so quickly, she came prepared with a lot of questions and gave me the biggest compliment ever by saying that it was the best workshop she has ever taken.

I expect great things from Rona and I have no doubt she will be very successful; I felt her passion for our craft and I'm fortunate to have been part of her educational experience.
